Biddenden ( 15.8 miles. Take a free guided tour and tasting.)
The vineyard is located just over a mile from the lovely Wealden
village home of "The famous Biddenden Maids". The twins Eliza and Mary
Chulkhurst were born joined at the hips and shoulders in 1100 and lived
34 years.
Established by the Barnes family in 1969, the original 1-acre has grown
to 22-acres with nine varieties of grape being grown. Set on a gentle
south facing slope in a shallow sheltered valley we are able to produce
White, Red, Rosé and Sparkling Wines. Alongside the wine making they
also produce Strong Kentish Ciders and Farm Pressed Apple Juice, made
from the juice of locally grown culinary and dessert apples.
